You’ve Got To See What This Baby Does When Her Mom Tries To Feed Her

One of the things I least look forward to is dinner time with my seven-month old son. People say girls are all drama but my Jason wins the prize in our house.

This morning, after I dropped my daughter off to kindergarten, I went home and searched through my refrigerator, looking for inspiration and hopefully something that doesn’t leave stains. I found a bag of carrots hidden behind day-old spaghetti and a half-drunk glass of chocolate milk. But wait… they’re orange!

I still had visions of my last attempt to feed Jason sweet potatoes yesterday. He’s been eating solid foods for about three months now and it’s been a challenge to find things that he likes. Yesterday, I boiled my own sweet potatoes and pureed them just for him. When I lifted him into the high chair, he was laughing and babbling but the minute he saw the spoon approaching, his mouth shut tight. Then began the game: “Open wide for Mommy, look what I have for you”. “This one’s for Daddy”. Nothing but sealed lips. “Ok, here’s comes the airplane”. He opened slightly and I quickly got a spoonful in. Whew! He made a face and let half dribble out. The next spoon, he blew raspberries! There were sweet potatoes flying everywhere and my shirt now had orange polka dots… sigh.

Some people have it a lot easier. The baby in the video is a dream to feed. Just look at what she does even before the spoon approaches.
